Trainer Biographies
Ann Goldman, CFRE
(NFC Trainer and Consultant)
Ann Goldman brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic
resource development and marketing for major gift campaigns,
corporate, and foundation relations, and teaching to her work
at NFC.
Ms. Goldman teaches regularly for the Donors Forum of Chicago,
Northwestern University's School of Continuing Studies, the
Philanthropy Center at the College of DuPage, and the Association
of Fundraising Professionals. Ms. Goldman has managed multi-million
dollar development programs at major cultural and healthcare
organizations, and has worked with a range of grassroots nonprofit
initiatives. She has also served in a grantmaking role for
two community-based foundations. She remains active with several
community organizations and professional associations.
Ms. Goldman holds a B.A. in philosophy from the University
of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

Jeffery A. Hunter, CPA, CFP®
(NFC Trainer and Consultant)
Jeffery A. Hunter has more than 23 years of experience in
accounting, financial planning, information system implementation,
contracts and grants management, technical assistance and
training delivery and business development. He has provided
systems analysis, software implementation, training and support
services to a variety of organizations. Mr. Hunter is founder
and principal of Jeffery A. Hunter & Co., a management
consulting firm that provides system consultation, implementation
and training services to governmental, nonprofit and business
clients. He defines systems requirements, designs inputs and
reports, identifies and procures software and develops implementation
strategies and procedures. He also installs and customizes
accounting software, trains personnel, supervises data conversion
and provides follow-up support services.
Mr. Hunter earned a Masters of Business Administration degree,
majoring in Accounting, from the State University of New York
at Buffalo; a Masters of Public Health degree, majoring in
Health Administration, from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill; and a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in
Economics and French, from Dartmouth College. He has earned
the designations of Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED
FINANCIAL PLANNER.

Dottie J. Johnson, CPA
(NFC Trainer and Associate Executive Director)
Ms.
Johnson has over 17 years of experience in accounting and
financial management of nonprofit organizations. She is currently
Associate Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of
Nonprofit Financial Center and is very active in the Illinois
Society of CPAs as a member of the Nonprofit Organizations
Committee and the Association for Consultants of Nonprofits.
She is a published author in trade journals and other professional
publications, an accomplished trainer and consultant in accounting,
internal controls, financial management systems and reporting
with lay leaders and professionals serving nonprofits around
the country.
Prior to joining the Nonprofit Financial Center, Ms. Johnson
was an Accountant with the Association for Retarded Citizens
of Illinois. She is a 1982 graduate of Murray State University
with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration.
Elaine Glenn Johnson, Accountant
(NFC Trainer and Consultant)
Elaine
G. Johnson is Founder and CEO of Advance Management Solutions,
Inc. a consulting firm that has specialized in accounting
systems development, training, board development, and organizational
restructuring, especially for nonprofit organizations, since
1991. Ms. Johnson has two decades of accounting experience
in the nonprofit sector, including facilitation of the NFC
Bookkeepers' Institute and the QuickBooks Training Seminars.
Ms Johnson has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an
M.B.A. in Finance.

Rev. Henry S. Roberts
(NFC Trainer and Consultant)
Henry S. Roberts is the founder of Stewardship Institute.
This nonprofit corporation teaches and consults on the biblical
principles of stewardship. The focus of Stewardship Institute
is on financial management, both for the individual and for
the Church as a whole using effective church organizational
processes and procedures that reflect God's way.
Currently Mr. Roberts is the Assistant Pastor in charge of
administration for Calvary Baptist Church of Glenwood. He
is pursing his Masters of Divinity at the Northern Baptist
Theological Seminary. Mr. Roberts is retired from his position
as executive vice-president of ABN AMRO in the Information
Technology Company. He has been in information technology
for 36 years, management for over 33 years, and commercial
banking for 19 years. He began his business career with IBM
in 1963 after graduating from Purdue University with a B.Sc.
in Industrial Economics.
Mr. Roberts is a board member of the Foster group, an African-American
technology consulting company that specializes in disaster
and data security. His community work includes serving on
the board of directors of the Interfaith Council for the Homeless
in Chicago. He is also a board member for the Rising Star,
Inc., a service agency supporting pregnant and parenting teens.
He has been a frequent speaker at colleges, churches, high
schools and technical seminars.

Beth E. Saks, CPA
(NFC Director of Accounting & Advisory
Services NFC Trainer)
Beth has 18 years of progressively responsible experience
in budgeting, business planning, management information systems
design, implementation and management, financial modeling
and analysis, financial reporting, expense control, auditing,
and tax preparation. She has a demonstrated ability to manage
diverse finance systems, administrative professionals, and
clerical staff.
Ms. Saks trains and consults on diverse financial management
issues from re-engineering key accounting processes, implementing
new financial management systems, controls and procedures
to advanced financial planning. She also brings expertise
in the areas of expense control; merchandise information systems
management, systems conversions and auditing. She holds a
B.A. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and
a M.B.A. in finance and accounting from Northwestern University's
Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She earned her C.P.A.
in Illinois in 1985.

Anthony J. Urbik, AAI
(NFC Trainer)
Anthony J. Urbik began his insurance career in 1978 and
achieved the designation of Accredited Advisor in Insurance
(AAI) from the Insurance Institute of America, Inc. in Philadelphia,
PA in 1983.
Founded in 1984 by its President, Mr. Urbik, Hinsdale International
serves the business community with a special emphasis on small
entrepreneurial companies and nonprofit organizations.
Hinsdale International, Inc. is a property/causality insurance
agency and risk management consulting firm located in Hinsdale,
Illinois that serves clients throughout the country. Hinsdale
International takes a risk management approach in the services
it provides to clients, with the belief that many risk exposures
can be successfully treated by techniques that do not involve
insurance.

Kathryn M. Vanden Berk
(NFC Trainer and publications author)
Kathryn Vanden Berk has been providing advice and consultation
to nonprofit organizations since 1979. Her career has included
significant roles as legal counsel, Board member and Chief
Executive Officer. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison
in both journalism and law, she is a seasoned leader, communicator,
problem solver, and business consultant.

Timothy S. Watson, CPA
(NFC Trainer and Consultant)
Timothy S. Watson has more than a decade of experience in
providing professional account services to nonprofits and
government organizations including the Chicago Lighthouse
for the Blind, Chicago Children's Museum, Boys & Girls
Club of Chicago, Chicago Urban League, National YMCA, Renaissance
Adult Day Services, Anti-Cruelty Society, Christian Community
Health Center, Lake County High Intensity Drug Trafficking
Area, City Colleges of Chicago, and the Illinois Departments
of Transportation, Employment Security, and Mental Health.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants
and the National Association of Black Accountants. He also
serves on the advisory boards of the Georgia Doty Health Education
Fund and Chatham-Avalon Church of Christ.
Mr. Watson earned his B. S. degree in accounting from Florida
A&M University.

Delena Wilkerson, MA
(NFC Trainer and Executive Director)
Ms.
Wilkerson has more than 21 years of experience in nonprofit
financial management, community economic development, organizational
development, and operations management. She has spent many
years researching, developing, managing and consulting on
a variety of programs and special projects for local and national
organizations and governmental units. Ms. Wilkerson also trains
around the country on financial management issues for boards,
administrators, foundations and consultants to the nonprofit
and religious communities. She is a widely published author
on a variety of subjects related to nonprofit financial management
and community economic development in newspapers, professional
journals, books, and periodicals.
Ms. Wilkerson currently serves as Executive Director of Nonprofit
Financial Center. She is a 1977 graduate of Livingstone College,
Salisbury, NC and a 1979 graduate of the University of Chicago
School of Social Service Administration.
